The Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association (SENA) is located in Minneapolis, MN and serves as the Standish and Ericsson neighborhoods' community backbone whose mission is: to work together to build on the strengths of the Standish and Ericsson neighborhoods: stability, diversity and concern for others.
Founded in 199, the Association is comprised of six Action Groups, a governing Board and part-time staff. SENA's Action Groups work on a variety of issues including housing, business, environment, families, crime prevention and safety, and transportation.
The Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association was originally located at 4000 28th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. The organization moved its office in February 2006 to its current location of 1830 East 42nd Street, Minneapolis, MN.
Founded in 1991, the Association is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to bettering the Standish and Ericsson neighborhoods. The organization operates to inform and involve the citizens, and to develop the processes designed to promote the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
The vehicle for citizen involvement in the organization is through volunteering for one of the Action Groups or committees, and/or running for a Board of Directors position. SENA currently has a part-time staff of three to organize and assist the volunteers, carry out administrative duties, and to maintain awareness of and act as a liason to other community organizations.
SENA disseminates information through occasional mailings, this web-site and through a bi-monthly newsletter called SENA News.
